The opportunity
The Course Leader will be responsible to the Art Programme Director for the academic vision, leadership, and management of the MA Fine Art Course at Chelsea College of Art, including the maintenance and enhancement of standards and responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the curriculum, as well as day to day management of the course.
The post-holder will have very substantial professional experience within the art world at international level and be able to draw on their ranging expertise to prepare students for ambitious graduate futures within the culture sectors globally. The post-holder will work collaboratively within a dynamic team to develop industry-purposed pedagogies and enhance the curriculum in innovative directions.
A track record of student-focussed postgraduate level curriculum design, HE management and quality assurance, sociality orientated pedagogies and team building are essential; as are a proven ability to initiate and develop collaborations with industry and education partners.
About you
You will have an established track record of teaching and management in the HE sector at postgraduate level, and experience of working with very substantial and culturally diverse cohorts. You will have experience in team-building and excellent professional networks to draw from to design and deliver a course with dynamic international profile.
Your internationally established practice in the contemporary arts sector will demonstrate your recognised expertise in your specialist area. You will have an astute understanding of a broad range of art practices, histories, contexts, and graduate destinations globally. Your knowledge of contemporary art and theory from non-European regions is desirable.
You will be well-organised, inspirational, have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and be a confident and engaging public speaker. You will have an engaging approach to working with others that promotes inclusivity, initiative, and professionalism.
