Job description
The opportunity
BA Games Design are looking for Associate Lecturers to join the teaching team to support the delivery of the course’s theoretical units.
Working with a diverse international cohort of students you will contribute to discussions around how games are conceived, designed, produced and consumed and the effects they have on those who play them and wider society.
Students are engaged in the design and development of games and part of the role will facilitate the mapping of relevant theoretical concepts to practical outputs.
Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of a unit or part of a unit. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully.
You will work closely with other academic staff, including the Programme Director and Course Leader.
About you
You will have experience of teaching Game Design students in formal lecture, class room or individual support settings.
You will have an understanding of the challenging goal orientated nature of games as well as how they interact and communicate with players.
You will be able to lead current debates around the publishing and consumption of games and their place within the wider field of media studies.
You must be resident in the UK to be considered for Associate Lecturer vacancies.
