Job description
The opportunity
We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Machine Learning Researcher to join our academic team on a new cutting-edge Creative AI project in collaboration with a leading commercial company, a UK national public broadcaster, and a world-leading animation studio. We are creating a pioneering AI-powered platform designed to revolutionize storytelling by enabling creators to generate immersive, linear and non-linear stories complete with characters, 3D worlds, soundscapes, dialogue, and interactivity. As a Machine Learning Researcher, you will play a critical role in developing and integrating advanced AI technologies to amplify human creative potential and democratise the field of entertainment production.
About you
Experience, knowledge and qualifications
- Relevant qualification or experience at PhD level or equivalent in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning with a specific focus on Creative Sector applications. Those with only Masters level qualifications are eligible to apply and will be considered based on practical experience in the field.
- Track record of experience in machine learning research, particularly in NLP and generative AI technologies at least at masters level. Experience in fine tuning and deploying LLMs is highly desirable.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Knowledge of 3D programming and animation technologies is a plus.
Communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication delivery, style and media to suit the audience whilst monitoring understanding by obtaining feedback.
