Job description
The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and creative technician with previous industry and workshop related experience, to join our 3D Technical Team at London College of Fashion (LCF).
As a Support Technician: 3D, you’ll contribute to the delivery of technical services and resources, working with your colleagues in the 3D and Jewellery and Accessories Technical Teams to support the day-to-day operations of the teaching and learning facilities.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your teaching skills, as you'll provide technical assistance and advice to students, helping them to develop new skills and a familiarity with 3D craft practices.
In addition to this, you'll be responsible for basic and routine maintenance procedures within the workshop and will undertake the daily preparation of facilities and resources to ensure that they are supplied and maintained. This will also include assisting with the preparation of learning materials, equipment and consumables for students and staff to use.

About you
You'll possess a relevant qualification in jewellery, footwear or artefact (or will possess equivalent industry experience).
You'll also have high-level general plastics and wood workshop experience and will be proficient in the use of machine plant equipment including bandsaws, pillar drills, hand tools, light metal work, vac-forming and lathe operation.
As an industrious and innovative individual, you'll be confident in creating and maintaining engaging learning materials for specialist practice and will be capable of answering queries and solving problems in accordance with procedures and precedent.
A knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation is also essential, including the ability to implement appropriate H&S practices into your work and practice.
