The opportunity

LCC is enjoying significant growth and transformation as we prepare to move to our new cutting-edge London Campus in 2027. This exciting role will play a pivotal part in developing several technical areas within the College.

You will be responsible for the coordination and management of 2 distinct technical areas within the College – Image Capture Studios and Sound Arts & Music Production. You will play a key role in developing the teams, ensuring they respond to an evolving curriculum, and of making studios, equipment and resources accessible and inclusive.

As an active member of the Technical Management Group, you will help deliver the technical resources strategy and provide vital information and expertise to the Technical Manager.

You will ensure the Image Capture Studios and Sound & Music technical teams deliver operational objectives and meet strategic targets, and you will liaise continuously with academic programmes and courses.

You will ensure that students at LCC have access to the fullest range of technical resources and experience the latest developments within moving image & sound technology and practice, and that resources are being used safely and efficiently.

As LCC prepares to move into a new building, you will play a significant role in helping to influence and shape its development.

You will be an innovative and creative technician with a passion for any of the following subject areas: photography, studio practice, emerging technology, sound arts and music production, excited by the prospect of leading a group of talented specialists.

You will relish the challenge of supporting a diverse range of talented creatives and renowned academics. Experience of supporting customers and stakeholders in a creative environment is key. Knowledge of Health & Safety management related to the designated technical area is also essential.

You will have extensive technical knowledge in one or more of the following fields:

  • Team coordination, line management, staff development

  • Sound production for film, sound arts, live sound and engineering, music production and recording.

You will be analytical and a keen problem solver who is equally at home helping students find solutions to complex problems as well as working to develop knowledge exchange partnerships and research collaborations. You will play a key role in ensuring LCC remains a leading institution, delivering outstanding technical spaces that blend traditional and future technologies, and which guides students to develop their skills and discover new possibilities and practices.

The University offers highly creative working environments that inspire staff across all areas to fulfill their potential and continuous training to further develop their skills and expertise. We also offer hybrid and flexible working practices, and excellent staff benefits to improve your work life balance.
