The opportunity
If you offer technical skills and experience in Art & Design this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role supporting pre-degree studies students at Lime Grove.
Housed in a beautiful 19th-century building in West London, our Lime Grove site offers a creative learning space for pre-degree students.
The facilities at Lime Grove include:
- 3D Digital Fabrication – 3D printing, scanning, vac forming and plastics
- Casting – clay and plaster work and mould making (including small sampling kiln for small ceramic work)
- Printmaking (including basic textiles sublimation printing) screen printing, etching & relief and mono printing
- Performance spaces
- Stitch & knit – access to sewing & knitting machines, weaving looms,
As a Technical Coordinator, you will support the practical delivery of technical workshops and student learning activities, using your specialist subject knowledge to facilitate and coordinate the students’ practical work.
You will oversee the safe operation and management of designated technical resources and will also line manage and support a group of Specialist and Support Technicians with student learning activities.
About you
BA level qualifications in Art & Design or equivalent Industry level experience is essential.
Demonstrable practical knowledge of H&S, COSHH, Risk Assessment and safe working practices is equally important.
You will also need proven experience and/or qualifications in a wide range of making technologies, including an understanding of emerging digital technologies and digital developments within art & design practices.
